Jiksak Gives Webinar with Elixirgen Scientific

On December 10, 2021, Jiksak Bioengineering was honored to present the company’s technology at a webinar hosted by Elixirgen Scientific, Inc, entitled “Tools to Study Neurodegeneration: iPSC-derived Neurons, Nerve Organoids™, and Engineered Human Synaptogenic Beads”.

 

Dr. Michaela Kilander, a scientist at Elixirgen, introduced the company’s cholinergic, dopaminergic, and GABAergic neurons and their uses in neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS, Alzheimer’s disease, and autism spectrum disorder. Next, Jiksak’s Global Business Development Manager, Stephanie Napier, gave an overview of applications for Jiksak’s products and services in neurodegeneration research. Topics covered included phenotypic and functional comparisons of healthy motor neurons versus patient-derived ALS motor neurons; omics analyses on axonal and somatodendrites from Jiksak’s Nerve Organoids™; axon scaffolds for repair peripheral nerve repair; and a new screening system for CIPN using Jiksak’s Engineered Human Synaptogenic Beads.
